Day of the Dead face shields

As we continue on with the lovely COVID virus and the changes to our society, you might be looking to expand your variety and wardrobe of protective gear.

And as we enter the last quarter of the year, we’ll be inundated with holidays that you can dress your gear up for.

When Zazzle started offering face shields, one of the first types of designs I considered was sugar skull and day of the dead versions. So rather than painting up your face – which would just get messed up by a mask anyway – you can just don one of these shields and you’re ready to celebrate.

They’ve recently added sizes for children, so I’m thinking to add additional designs appropriate for them.

Elegant doodle face masks

If you’re heading back to work in an office, you likely are going to still need to wear a mask there.

And let’s face it, but that cool design you have that shows a tongue sticking out is probably not work-appropriate. Maybe.

So check out a line of masks I have created with some abstract doodle patterns I have in black, white, ivory and steel gray. The patterns are circles, doodles and other styles of scribbles. I set up a ton already with nice subtle background colors perfect to coordinate with your office outfits.

And best of all, you can go into the design tool and change the background to any color you like to better coordinate with your wardrobe.

Texas LOVE face masks

Zazzle has added lots of different types of face masks, including a 100% cotton version.

(No commentary from me here about what type of fabric is best. That science is always changing. We’ll know eventually!)

This particular set uses a SVG design of mine with large western style letters to spell out LOVE with Texas as the “O”. To add to the love, it has a little heart cutout of its center. The entire design then has a distressed finish to give it a nice rustic look.

The design is available in state flag blue, periwinkle purple and cactus green, as well as Texas Tech Red Raiders red, Texas A&M Aggies maroon and UT Longhorns burnt orange. Because the design is an SVG, you can go into the design tool to change the color if you like.

The cotton mask comes in white or black.

Yellow Rose of Texas Face Masks

I have several different yellow rose of Texas designs. It’s kind of a natural to start with when you start up a Texas shop, right?

So once Zazzle started offering face masks, they were among the first I transferred over. I think they work really well in this particular context. And they’re a super girly, very Texan look!

The top design here is one of my favorites with the single large yellow rose and the western type. It looks great on black or white and is just the right mix of feminine and Texan. The one to the right here is among the most popular I have at Redbubble, although not quite as much at Zazzle. Still, I really like the mix of modern type and rustic lines.

The designs are available on two different mask types at Zazzle – specifically the all-cotton ones and the cotton-poly ones with the piping. Oh, and there’s also one of the plastic face shields I made with the large single rose if you’re looking for something like that.

Face masks for back to school

If your school is opening for in-person classes, masks are going to be a given for everyone.

So you might as well look at adding a few to your current collection that related to school and school activities.

I have a very, very, very large collection of appropriate ones to choose from, mostly bulked up by the fact that I offer 14 school color options.

Class of 2021 and senior class

You can start with the ones specific to the senior class, like the one at the top of this post. That particular design is available in all the school colors and you can personalize it with your school name as well as the year. (So, unless you’re planning on failing a grade, that one can work for 2022, 2023, etc., as well as the class of 2021.)

There are many others that don’t have a customizable year, which actually means they can be more fancy as far as the design goes. It’s a bit of a trade-off. I have similar design options available at Redbubble as well.

Sports themes and school colors

By far the largest group I have is going to be those that revolve around specific sports, most of which come in the line of 14 school colors.

The simple soccer pattern on black you see here is indicative of the main style I offer. It comes in soccer, cheer, basketball, football and baseball.

There are also more complex designs for cheerleading, volleyball and lacrosse, some of which come in bright colors that aren’t school related. There is a simple and basic pattern of white lacrosse sticks, though, similar to the one above.

Mascot school pride

Then we have the school pride designs. Due to the nature of the design, they do come in a more limited color palette, but I think I’ve covered the most common one.

Half the colors come on a white background with the word PRIDE in black; the other half in reverse with a black background and the word PRIDE in white. This allows the different color choices to stand out better.

You can customize the design with your school mascot in large script and the school name underneath. And if you feel ambitious, you can go into the design tool and change colors to fit your particular taste or combination.
