Love to Texas and Back Art

Texas is so big, when you say you love someone to Texas and back, it’s almost as good as the moon. (Right?)

Still, I love the sentiment behind this particular design. And it’s very artsy fartsy too, which I don’t normally do. All the letters are flush right with any holes plugged in. It comes in the gold shown here, but also a green and blue watercolor wash, a navy blue and a pink on dark gray.

It’s so artsy, in fact, I’ve mostly only put it on the art pieces offered at Zazzle – canvas prints and posters. But it is on a couple of other items you can enjoy.

Chile peppers for wrapping gifts

Ready to spice up your next gift? I’ve got all kinds of items with some red (and green!) hot chile peppers on them.

The mix of red and green chile peppers make these an obvious option for Christmas, but really they’re just something fun for any time of year if you have a chile lover around.

While the two options you see here use a basic green chile repeated pattern with the occasional red chile tossed in, I do have a few other design options. Those show up below and you can see ribbon, wrapping paper, gift tags and gift bags among the items offered.

A few of these are specifically Christmas – mostly the ones that have Feliz Navidad spelled out in red chile peppers. But almost all will work for the holidays.

(While you’re poking around in my store looking at the gift wrap options, don’t forget to check out the other items featuring these designs. Great gift ideas for New Mexicans!)

Watercolor lacrosse sticks blanket

It’s a lovely surprise when a design just takes off and makes people happy.

(OK, I know. I shouldn’t be surprised. I should expect people will like my stuff, right? :-))

This particular lacrosse design is one of those that has just taken off, particularly the blanket pictured here. It all started when one person bought the blanket to use as an auction item. And it’s just been a popular item ever since.

The image started as a photo, which I tweaked and turned into a watercolor print. A row of different colored lacrosse sticks are lined up on the green grass of the field. You can personalize it with your name at Zazzle.

This particular design is available on a ton of different items at Zazzle (see below) as well as at Redbubble.

We Have Arrived Shirts

Perfect for the first day of school!!! Announce that you (and the rest of your class year) have arrived on the scene with one of these shirts.

Big bold letters state “WE HAVE ARRIVED” and the entire thing has a distressed look to it. The design at the top here is from Zazzle, so you have the option to personalize the class year and add your school name. Or put your name. Or your class motto. Your call. That one is available in the black shown here as well as with black lettering on white.

Over at Redbubble, the shirts are only available with black lettering, so most of the time the best look is going to be a white shirt. (Maybe I should go back and add it again with white letters?) This one can’t be personalized so it’s just for the class of 2021. I’ll be adding future classes as soon as I can.

(The design at Redbubble is also on lots of other products, most of the time with a great tiny stripe background.)

Texas linen custom moving announcements

Moving to Texas is a big deal, and the interest in moving announcements is pretty high. Guess everyone wants to brag a little about finally arriving in the Lone Star State!!

I’ve added a new design to my collection of moving announcements, an elegant option with a linen pattern background. They come in blue, green, brown, rose and gray so you can pick a color that suits you. While the state and the heart can be custom colored, the background can’t.

And in typical fashion, I’ve set each color up to cover a different area of the state. So the heart is already set up to cover the Gulf coast, panhandle, North Texas, El Paso, South Texas and the Hill country. (You can move the heart around if you want or need it to be more precisely placed. But most people aren’t going to know just how different the locations of Austin and San Antonio are. Trust me.)

The front includes lines for your family name and the town you’re moving to. The back is a soft coordinating solid with room for your new address and your individual family names. (Don’t forget to include the pets!)

These are only available in postcard form at the moment, but you can transfer them to other products if you’re feeling brave.

(Side note: In August 2020, Zazzle is having an issue with its preview function, so the linen background looks like it doesn’t go all the way to the edge. I promise it does and Zazzle says it will print properly.)

Sit Stay Love paw prints

Being a dog lover (sorry, cats!), I had dreams at one point of doing a bunch of pet-related designs.

I really only made it as far as this particular one, which I do love. It doesn’t really lend itself well to personalization at Zazzle, so I don’t have a lot of options there.

This design is also in my shop at Redbubble and on more products there than I currently have at Zazzle, like the sleeveless top shown on the right here.

The design features a large gray heart with the words Sit. Stay. Love. on it. Brushstroke gray stripes run behind the whole thing with scattered paw prints in yellow, blue, orange and green shades.

Lovely design for a pet person – dog or cat – obviously. Enoy!!!

Mismatched flip flop fashion

I am one of those people who believes matching is highly overrated. At least when it comes to socks and other opportunities for whimsy.

I’ve found it difficult in designing flip-flops to come up with something unique that anyone would be willing to pay for a custom pair for. (I do have lots that are in my various sports pattern. Not a lot of cheer, volleyball or lacrosse flip flops already out there.)

That is, until I hit upon ways to take my current graphics and make sets that coordinate but don’t match. Extra fun!!!

I got into a rhythm so they pretty much all have a pattern of some sort on the right shoe. The left shoe incorporates some element from the pattern or a coordinating image and the ability to personalize with your name. It was a great way to use some of my lovely patterns that hadn’t found a good home yet.

There are a couple Texas specific designs like the blue gingham ones at the top of this post. The dotted pattern one comes in several different color options and you can even go in to change the background on the left shoe if you prefer a different color out of the pattern.

Bright Diagonal Lacrosse Sticks Pattern

I got into a kick recently with creating patterns themed for volleyball, cheerleading and lacrosse. And I really love this one particular lacrosse pattern, so I wanted to share it today.

It’s diagonal sticks in a variety of bright tropical colors like orange, lime green and turquoise. The two products you see here are available at Redbubble, among the many I offer there. The table at the bottom of this post shows options over at Zazzle, where I have a couple of different colors, although this post is just about this one particular color.

At Zazzle, you can change out the background color if you like; I’d recommend black or dark gray. It’s a nice change and the bright colors will really stand out against a dark background.

Black collie dog undated planner

The very first planners I ever published are still among my favorites. After all, they feature earnest and adoring dog faces and who can resist those?

The covers of these all featured the text “so … what are we going to do today?” because in my head, that’s exactly what the dog is asking. Certainly that’s what I always heard when my dogs would look at me like that!

While the boxer cover will always be my favorite because I had a boxer, design-wise, I adore this collie planner because the image wraps around to the back. He can see you coming and going!

This planner is 110 pages with one week per two pages, so enough pages for a full year. However, it’s undated so that year can start whenever you want! The days of the week are on the left side, while I’ve made sections for a to-do list, random notes and hard goals. There’s a light grid filling the background so you can use it to doodle if you don’t have much to plan one week. 🙂 It’s a nice compact 6″x9″ size to make it easy to carry around.

I do update the insides of these every year because I include full year calendars in the front. Right now, they are for 2020 and 2021. Around October or so, I’ll update them to be for 2021 and 2022. Otherwise, when you get one is irrelevant.

Get your collie undated planner at Amazon!

Side note: the images above are mock-ups I made, not pictures of the actual book. Just wanted to mention that since the book you’d actually receive won’t have rounded corners and will include a bar code on the back.

Texas Bride in Boots Shower Invitations

There is no occasion in Texas too formal for cowboy boots.

Seriously. People wear them to everything.

And weddings are no exception, even for the bride!!

It’s a typical Texas thing for the bride to wear boots, so I’ve drafted up some bridal shower invitations that highlight that very, very Texan thing.

Currently, I have four different images featured in these designs. Two are horizontal, two are vertical. All focus on the boots the bride is sporting and are watercolor images.

The one you see here is a bride seated on an ottoman or stool with her obviously worn brown boots displayed. The others include a bride posing out by a fence, which I have further rusticated with a filter, a set of rhinestone boots and a bride showing some sass outside with her boots and bouquet.

I have flat note card invitations, which are great if you’re planning to send other items with the invite, as well as simple postcards that will save you money.

The shower invitations include space for registration, RSVP and host names along with the party details. (And I’ve been adding additional items you can use for the shower such as napkins, plates, posters, gift bags, etc.)
